Allstate Ride for Hire Ride-hailing Insurance

Ride-hailing can help you earn extra cash, but it can also lead to gaps in your auto insurance coverage. Allstate Ride for Hire can help you stay protected for as little as $15-20 per year. If you’re thinking about using your personal vehicle to drive for a transportation network company (TNC), we can help you get protection.

Allstate Ride for Hire can help:

  • Cover gaps in your personal auto insurance coverage when your insured vehicle is used to drive for a TNC.
  • Provide additional protection if your TNC’s insurance falls short of your needs in the event of an accident.

Your Allstate agent can help you learn more about the benefits of adding Allstate Ride for Hire to your existing auto insurance policy.

Erie Ridesharing Insurance

Erie Insurance was the first to launch a first-of-its-kind insurance coverage to protect drivers who use ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft. The new ridsharing insurance coverage solves a longstanding problem for drivers in the ridesharing economy by eliminating confusion over what’s covered and when. With ERIE’s new coverage, the driver has insurance coverage during every part of the trip—before, during and after the hired ride.

Farmers Rideshare Insurance extends your personal auto insurance coverage through Period 1 until you accept a ride and the rideshare company’s full commercial liability coverage applies in Periods 2 & 3. This policy enables you to select the coverage that fits your needs, including:

Farmers Rideshare insurance coverage ends when you accept a ride. The rideshare company’s full commercial liability coverage applies until that ride exits your car. Farmers Rideshare once again applies until you accept your next ride.

Liberty Mutual Rideshare Insurance

Liberty Mutual is an auto insurance company that is friendly towards Lyft and Uber drivers. Liberty Mutual’s car insurance coverage options, benefits and discounts mean you can get the protection you need, at a price you deserve. While they don’t specifically have rideshare endorsements, they will not cancel your policy because you drive for Lyft and Uber. In addition, their auto insurance policy won’t cover you when you get into a rideshare accident since they will be secondary to Uber and Lyft insurance.

MetLife Lyft Insurance:

MetLife Auto & Home® and Lyft, one of the nation’s leading ridesharing companies, announced today that Lyft drivers in California—one of the largest ridesharing states—now have access to a unique auto insurance policy tailored specifically for Lyft drivers. The policy was first made available to Lyft drivers in Colorado, and expanded to Illinois, Texas and Washington earlier this year.

The policy, offered by MetLife Auto & Home, contains an endorsement unique to the auto insurance marketplace in that it offers coverage for rideshare drivers at every stage of the trip: while the driver is logged into the app and waiting for a passenger request, is en route to pick up a passenger, and during the trip with the passenger. Premiums applicable to the policy endorsement will vary based on the mileage driven in the Lyft program.

Lyft drivers, or those interested in driving for Lyft, in California, Colorado, Illinois, Texas and Washington can call MetLife Auto & Home toll-free at 1-855-782-8480 to inquire about a policy. Current MetLife Auto & Home auto policyholders in these states will be able to have their auto policy re-written with the Lyft endorsement.

Metromile Uber Insurance

Metromile provides rideshare insurance as Uber insurance. Metromile is directly integrated with Uber so that every mile you drive on Uber does not count against the total mileage charged to your Metromile insurance account. For full time Uber drivers, Metromile Uber insurance makes a lot of sense since every mile you drive on Uber doesn’t count towards the Metromile Insurance. Also, you won’t have any insurance issues if you use Metromile Uber insurance. This differs from the commercial Uber insurance.

Metromile Uber insurance will be a good option if you drive less than 7000 miles a year.
