Amazon Flex Drivers License Verification – Avoid Deactivation!

Amazon Flex sent out an email requiring many Amazon Flex drivers to send in an updated driver’s license. My license doesn’t expire until 2023, but they sent one out to me anyway. This is a perfect legitimate request from Amazon Flex. You can perform this step on your smartphone, but a few Amazon Flex delivery drivers had to email into the support email in order to have it resolved.

This is what the email looked like:

Hello Simon Kwok,

In order to continue delivering for Amazon Flex, we need a current copy of your driver’s license. Please upload a clear image by following these steps: open the Amazon Flex App and go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Personal Information’ > ‘Driver’s License’ > ‘Edit’ and follow the prompts to submit a new image of your driver’s license. If you have uploaded your driver’s license in the last 24 hours, you can disregard this message.

If we don’t receive updated information by the due date, your account will be deactivated and you will not be able to make deliveries. This isn’t a permanent deactivation and you will still be able to reactivate your account, even after this date, by following these steps: open the Amazon Flex App and go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Personal Information’ > ‘Driver’s License’ > ‘Edit’ and follow the prompts to submit a new image of your driver’s license. Please check the Amazon Flex app for more information.

Please re-enter your information in the Amazon Flex app and ensure all the following information is accurate:

  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license #
  • Driver’s license expiration date
  • Driver’s license State

If you have recently changed your legal name, please fax legal documentation of your previous name, new legal name, and your email ID (used for Amazon Flex registration) to (206) 709-6826 prior to uploading as we won’t be able to verify otherwise.

If you read this email, this is for Amazon Flex drivers who have not changed their name. If you changed your legal name, you will need to fax legal documentation to Amazon Flex at the above fax number. There are some free fax services online that faxes a PDF to any US fax number, so you don’t need a fax machine.

Amazon Flex Drivers License Verification with Amazon Flex App

When you sign into the Amazon Flex app, you will be greeted with a popup message about Amazon Flex Drivers License Verification and to upload and update your drivers license. I personally have done this on iOS and I could not upload the picture nor could I change my driver’s license details. Little did I know that it was just a pop up message and I could close it. To upload your driver’s license, you will need the newest version of the Amazon Flex app. Once I closed the popup message, the Amazon Flex app started the update process.

Once the Amazon Flex app updated and I was able to sign in, I went to Settings like the above instructions and uploaded a picture of my Driver’s License. It took about 5 minutes for the picture to update on the Amazon Flex app so be patient. I uploaded my driver’s license 5 times before I saw that it eventually updated. Once you upload a picture of your driver’s license, you are able to type in your Driver’s License information. Once you see your new driver’s license in the picture box and have updated your driver’s license information, you can click done.

In about a day or two, you should receive an email saying that it is complete. The email will look something like this:

You do not need to take further action at this time.

Amazon Flex Drivers License Verification with Support

Some drivers had to send in their driver’s license into the Amazon Flex support email in order for it to get resolved. Below is the Amazon Flex Support Email Address:

amazonflex-support@amazon.com

They had to send in a picture (front and back) of their driver’s license and then enter in their driver’s license information into the email. This method may take up to a week so be patient. If you have initiated this process early enough, it should not affect your Amazon Flex account since you have about 30 days to upload your driver’s license and update your driver’s license information.
