Youtube Interview: Erika Simone From Driving is a Drag
I have came across Erik Koral a few times on various Facebook groups and when I launched my Youtube Channel, I wanted to do an interview with him. I wanted to know what was his motivation for driving on Uber and how he uses his personality for Uber. I was also dying to know how his trip up to Lyft HQ went and what he talked about with John Zimmer.
Erik’s profile reads: Digital Marketing Specialist, Serial Entrepreneur & Nice Guy. However, when he drives on Uber and Lyft, he has an alternate drag personality, Erika Simone, as seen below in the picture. Before he started driving, he experimented with dressing up, but “my experimentation with dressing up was paramount to me becoming completely comfortable in my own skin for the first time in my life.”
Just recently, he had a huge article in the LAWeekly. You can read more about Erika and his story at this link:

In the first video of the two part interview, he talks about his first week on driving on Lyft and Uber in drag. Overall, it has been immensely positive and also providing reliable transportation to the LGBT community and he talks about his experience getting to know more of that community, along with connecting with passengers using his persona.
In the second part of the interview, he spoke about his trip up to Lyft HQ, including a short meeting with John Zimmer himself! He also spoke about what he would like to do with his personality on Uber and Lyft.
Here is what he would like to do in 2015:
My goals for 2015 and Driving is a DRAG are; get an appearance in a Reality TV program (or get an offer for my own), get an appearance in Daytime talk show like Ellen Degeneris, get an appearance in Late night talk show like Conan OBrien, and take a celebrity to the Grammys and the Oscars. In addition I am going to launch a Kickstarter campaign for my own original 10 part YouTube series next month. Other goals include; Kickstarter campaign for the “Most Fab Ride” party bus, Kickstarter campaign for my own mobile app and business start up costs, finding a charity partnership with a LGBT org, getting a cameo in the Amazon Prime show “Transparent,” generating killer press, finding an agent and manager, breaking off from Lyft and Uber and to create my own stand alone franchise specialty ride/party bus business.
